Our story began on a memorable March evening in 2016, the best night of Maria’s life, when we met at a dive bar in Somerville, MA. From the moment I laid eyes on Maria, I was captivated by her infectious laughter and radiant smile. Our conversation flowed effortlessly, and I quickly realized that I was in for a delightful adventure—one that would involve a lot of laughter and a fair amount of unpredictability.

As most of you know, I have a very direct approach to life. I like to plan things, make lists, and stick to a schedule. I know my emotions well; for better or worse, I can usually pinpoint exactly how I’m feeling. Meanwhile, Maria is a whirlwind of feelings—she can have about 50 emotions at any given time! One minute she’s ecstatic, and the next she’s contemplating the meaning of life while deciding what to have for dinner. It’s like living with a walking, talking rollercoaster, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Together, we enjoy cooking (though I’m pretty sure Maria just likes to make a mess in the kitchen, that I end up cleaning - just kidding!), swimming, and traveling to new places. Our adventures often involve me trying to keep up with Maria’s wild ideas—like that one time she suggested we take a small boat out to find whales. Spoiler alert: No whales, but it turned into a very scary adventure to a depth we had no business being!

Life has thrown us some challenges, including the loss of both of our fathers, but Maria's ability to find joy amidst sorrow has been a guiding light for us both. She reminds me that sometimes, the best moments come from embracing the unexpected, even if that means navigating through a sea of her ever-changing emotions.

As we prepare to elope in Las Vegas on April 24th, we’re excited to kick off this new chapter together, surrounded by our closest family and friends. While it’s bittersweet for Maria—who always dreamed of having her father walk her down the aisle—she's ready to embrace the joy of this spontaneous ceremony.
